Hi All,

I'm currently in the process of sorting out my AV system by wall mounting the TV with some Sanus vf2022 wall mounted shelves underneath to help hide the interconnects - I had to get these from a site that sold in USD! But they should look nice when it's all done.

I've wall mounted 5 Anhony Gallo Nucleus Micor Ti speakers, 1 in each corner of the room and 1 above the TV. I've chased out the walls and run QED Micro speaker cable from a chrome 5.1 surround wall plate (from nexxia.co.uk) to each speaker and to a chrome sub woofer wall plate. The cable runs under the skirting boards (which are currently off) and then chased (mostly) directly up to each speaker and the wall plates, and the only conduit I've used is below the 5.1 face plate.

Now I'm wondering what kind of filler is safe to fill directly over the speaker cable? I've heard that some can corode the cable and I don't really want to chase out the walls again after I decorate!

Don't fill directly onto the cables, protect them with some form of plastic trunking, it also makes it easier to replace the cables later if you need to.

Thanks for the reply, however, the cables are already in the walls and the chasing is fairly small - I don't want to make the chases larger just to put conduit in.

Th proper way has already been mentioned but to finish the job I would think any commercially available filler would suffice and not corrode/damage the QED micro.
