We are building a custom home and I finally get my dedicated media room. I am going to be using a middle atlantic slim rack for the av equipment with the custom rack shelves that have the face plates. Their is going to be a good bit of equipment in here:

1. LG BD390 Blu-Ray
2. Sony STR-DA2400es Receiever
3. Xbox 360
4. Wii
5. Ps3
6. UPA-7 Audio Power Amplifier
7. 4U PC
8. DishNetwork VIP612 DVR

I was origionally going to have them frame this into the wall and the butt end would end up in the attic. Now I am second guessing myself becuase of the heat. We live in Texas and during the winter it won't be a issue but I think on those 110 degree days in the summer I am going to run into heating issues. Have any of you ran the backend of your av equipment into a attic or non air conditioned space?

Thank you for any advise. I am out of ideas on this one.

I can`t imagine how hot it will get in the attic but can you not put a fan/fans onto your kit and extract the heat outside.

Texas! sounds like a great place to be mate, any chance of a photo or two

If its like my current attic its typically outside tempature plus 10 degrees or so. The attic is huge like 700sf I will take pics and post them up as I start to work on the room. We are still framing the house. Lots of rain slowing mus down
