Stuck on power supply

Hi all
I am just in the process of building a false chimey breast, "pictures will follow soon" but was stuck on how people power their hifi when its hidden away, basically what I am stuck on is all my hifi will be built into the chimney so it was more a question of how do you turn anything off from the mains, I will have 7 items plugged in but wanted to know how people cut their supply if there was a problem or even just to reboot the cable media box, I suppose I want each plug individually, at the moment I have taken a spur of off a double plug and stuck on ideas of how to connect it all, before it was all chucked into an extension lead with six sockets but do not want that when its out of sight, so would appretiate any ideas or other posts that point the right way

Re: Stuck on power supply

One idea I have for a similar situation is to fit a switched 13amp spur from my double-socket, and then use a multi-way adapter from a single socket. I am then going to use Bye Bye Standby to remotely switch it all on/off.

Bye Bye Standby do a starter kit with a remote and 3 adapters for £25 if you search around. I've just bought two!

Re: Stuck on power supply

Looks like I will go with 4 single switched units controlling 4 double sockets, at least I can narrow down the situation of a reboot on the cable media box, thanks for all your help out there

Re: Stuck on power supply

Hi Royaltiger

I also went the "standby killer" route - one touch of the remote and everything powers up.....

Hope this helps
