Fake wall recess with access behind

Hi all,

Hope my question makes sense. I'm working on a fake wall with recesses and will need access behind. this has got me thinking that at least the access door needs to be mdf and the rest plasterboard, but might just do it all in mdf.

How easy is it to get the mdf looking the same as the existing pboard wall?

also, does anyone have any thoughts on how to make the access doors 'invisible'. eg there has to be a gap all around and i'm thinking that rather than hinges they will slide upwards???

Thanks
