Games/Cinemea Room.. Help?

Well not much i can say right now.. but i have a standard sized box room just waiting to be pimped up..
Right now i have a wall cabinet which houses my collection of games and dvds and just been plunged with random stuff for storage.
I have a 36" Telly, one of them old ones with the big back.. Hoping to get a plasma soon.. Xbox 360, PS3 and one of those chairs from ikea that are all in the shop, Like rocking chairs with a cream exterior.
The walls are painted a light greyish color and I have a reasonable good surround system and a subwoofer and 2 monitors that i connect my laptop or ipod upto.. hoping to connect them to the television but i dont have any idea what cable i need to buy?
Ill get some dimensions and stuff soon and maybe pictures..
Im just thinking what is a good room design/layout that i can do that is modern and cosy.. I see all these fake walls with lights and think its amazing.. But with the setup i have.. i only have 2 walls to place a television.. one small wall that leads to a door and under a window space..
Im really new to this and dont know how you lot can help.. but maybe with dimensions you can guide me on whats cheap to buy.. how to place them and what designs/colors would look good.
Its just used while i go on the xbox and the occasional movie.. and where i go on the internet and stuff..
So yeah.. thats kinda it.. hmm?

Re: Games/Cinemea Room.. Help?

Heres a shot at my shabby photo skills.
As you can see I really cant do much with the room.. But maybe some new color and clean up and some new addons will make it look great.

EDIT:
Heres the pictures of the room.. as you can see it is realitivily small and in need of a makeover.

Re: Games/Cinemea Room.. Help?

Hey TylerK, its a small room, but has alot of potential my friend.

Here are a few Idea's I've had for your little room. Sadly none involve the TV or that unit you own they're a bit large.

Room aint too big so get and LCD, 32" would be perfect, however 37" would work. Ive included some links for items of furniture you could also use.

forgot to label your chair in that pic, its the big thing next to the sub.

Re: Games/Cinemea Room.. Help?

Surround sound is good, but 5.1 is OTT for a room so small. A nice 2.1 system will make good your PS3 & Xbox as the one I've recommended has Optical Input, which both your consoles have.

Paint the room white, maximise your light, it'll open it up. The one wall you stick the TV unit on paint it a darker colour, maybe a Gray. Mount a rope light behind that TV unit and you can create a floating wall effect.

This isnt my floating wall, I googled it. Its an example for you to get what im on about.

Re: Games/Cinemea Room.. Help?

I see you've mentioned in your 1st note about having some surround unit, that you can connect to ipod ect, personally wouldnt use it and get something built for the job. Those are only really any good for music.

Re: Games/Cinemea Room.. Help?

Do something about the pink curtain, but I'll leave that up to you.... it doesnt matter what work you do to that room, nobody is gonna compliment you if you keep those up.
