Help with new build setup - Show me yours

Hi all, im new to this site, and generally AV based im not too clever.

I want the TV up on the wall with the wires hidden, its a new house so im guessing I might be able to drop the wires in the void between the plasterboard and wall.

Or - make a fake chimney breast or floating wall of some sort to break up the wall a bit, make a bit of feature out of it.

Then - theres the tv bench, low and wide, any suggestions?

One more - im after a DVD home cinema type system with HD upscalling, are the Samsung ones ok? Ive got about £500 to spend, including purchase of any base units (I already have a wall mount)

Any ideas would be most welcome, and pics of potential systems/layouts even better. Allways good to see what others in this situation have done. Thanks in advance
