Floating wall colour suggestions

Hi
I'll be starting my floating wall project soon, but can't make up my mind about colours. My living room walls will be a mushroom colour and I would like to bring some colour into the room with the floating wall. Looking at either painting it one colour or maybe covering with textured wallpaper.
Any suggestions or pictures of your rooms to give me some ideas will be welcome

Thanks.

Have no idea what colour you mean by 'mushroom', but I did mine in Ral 4004, which is called 'bordeaux violet'.

Re: Floating wall colour suggestions

Best thing I can suggest is to look at a few paint websites to get some ideas for paint colours. Farrow & Ball have a nice selection of "mushroom" type colours (basically brown/grey type shades). We're doing our kitchen in a few mixes. Current favs are "Mouse's back" and "Elephant breath". You've got to love some of the names they give these shades.

Something like Google Sketchup would also be useful for you to see how different colour combinations would work in your room. I'm using it extensively to plan interior design of my current build. You'll need to calibrate your computer screen correctly for that to work properly though, but even without it would give you a rough idea before you invest in some samples.

Re: Floating wall colour suggestions

Thanks for the replies. I will have a look at Google Sketchup.
Just to be clear, my actual walls will be a mushroom colour. The floating wall I want a different colour, maybe some shade of red / purple / green etc ? Would maybe like some sort of textured wallpaper to make the floating wall more interesting, but nothing too hectic with flowers etc.

I'd dare say you might have more luck if you posted up an example of what this mushroom shade looks like and a photo of the room. Practically impossible to make specific color suggestions without knowing what else is going into the the room.

Plus I think most colours are chosen by those who actually have the final say, which are statistically more likely to be the half of a partnership that does not frequent this forum

Cocoa Blush 2 is what I'm using on my feature wall. Its got such a sexy richness to it and the vibrancy of the colour changes throughout theday

Its a mix of dark milk chocolate and a juicy cherry.

Using Cocoa Blush 2

BTW: the colour sample on the dulux website just doesnt do it any justice!
