Hi guys, im getting abit fed up of keeping stretching to the plug sockets behind my cabinet to turn off all my av equipment and am looking for a possible solution.

I am controlling everything using a harmony 1000 remote.

at the moment all the individual devices are plugged into seperate wall sockets (ie 3 Double sockets)

I would ideally like a surge protector of some sort awhich could maybe go into some kind of ir plug socket which i could turn off using the harmony. Therefor 1 click turning off all the devices so they are not on standby.

Which is the way to go to do this??? Where is the best place to buy such equipment?

I had one of these and it was piece of junk. It had to be recalibrated all the time and it would randomly turn everything off. I could watch TV for ages and it would be fine then soon as i switched on the PS3 15 minutes later it would turn everything off. The final straw was when it corrupted the HDD on my PS3 due it switching it off while the HDD was being accessed. I went through the intellipanel tech support and they could not work out why it wouldnt work either.

Plus integrating it with my Harmony one was a complete nightmare as it does not have a discreet on and off code.

Save yourself 30 pounds and switch everything on and off at the wall as your currently doing.

ok, fair few reviews point towards this thing turning itself off. guess i'll just have to buy some knee pads for the amount of times im switching the sockets on and off

I have an 8 way surge protector plugged into a bye bye standby socket with a bye bye standby wall switch by the front door so I can power off/on the whole lot when I leave the house. A solution using the harmony would be difficult as mentioend without discrete on/off and I don't really want to power off the whole lot at the wall for shorter periods.

As i said ......works a treat for me

I don't switch it on using a our Hormony though, i just use the switch on top of the ir dongle.

Which is no great hardship at the end of the day and switches everthing on as it's supposed too
