Age Old Question about mounting a TV over a fire place.

Hi Guys,
This Prob gets ask a milion times but...... im puting a Glass fronted gas fire into a Stone clad fireplace. We intend puting a TV recessed in the Stone above it. The room is quite large 50SQ/m so viewing angle is a prob. So here is the question: by recessing the Fire place by about Four inches will this be enough to protech the TV, apporc 24 inches above the top of the Fire (as there will be no mantle between the FP an TV). I would love to here for any oone how has done this good or Bad.
