47inch LG onto dot and dabbed plasterboard wall???

Hi

I have recently bought a LG 47LG5010 TV and am considering hanging it on the wall (flat mounted). The problem is the wall is a dot and dabbed plasterboard one and as such I have no batons to fasten too. I don't really fancy cutting holes in the wall to attach new batons where I need them and am wondering if using anchor bolts will be ok to fasten the bracket directly to the plasterboard or will they pull through with the weight (30Kg).

Any advice or warnings folks?

The weight will pull the bracket through the plasterboard in time, I had a similar problem and considered proper fixing above how the wall looked behind my tv, I measured the overal sizr of my bracket then added 100mm all the way round then cut out the dot dabbed plasterboard back to the block wall, i then fixed 2 piecess of MDF to the same thickness as the original plasterboard, I then filled and painted the MDF in the same wall colour then i secured the bracket safe in the knowledge it wasn`t going anywhere, it took me about 2 hours to do, but i have piece of mind now that it`s not going anywhere....hope this helps

I've got a 50" Kuro (32kg) hanging on my dot dabbed wall, 12 x 120mm frame fixings plugged and screwed. They go through the plaster, through the breeze and out the other side. It was originally for my 43" XDE but i changed that to the Kuro a few months later and just took the old one off and hung the Kuro in its place.

glad i found this thread as i'm in the very same situation. The previous owner left some kind of screw in bolts then the screw goes into them if that makes sense. They had a failry large mirror hanging on them no problems and i was wondering whether i could get away with putting my tv on that way. Big_si have you done your yet?
