Perfect fit blinds-rubbish!

I ordered some of these with blackout material. Yes they fit perfectly into the existing frame, BUT when the actually blind material is rolled down it does not sit level with the froont of the frame. It sits back towards the window wby up to an inch (at the bottom) and sos lets in loads of light.

As each window pane in a window has its own perfect fit frame one of my windows has three of these, so I get light bleeding on each siide of three of these frames ie 6 places.

If I had just gone for one roller blind I would have just got that problem in two places ie each side.

So, I've spent more money than a normal roller blind and ended up with more light bleed than a roller. Not happy

On my velux blinds, they have liittle rails on the side to make sure that the blind sits right up flush against the glass and that the blind overlaps into the rails so there is 100% light coming through.
Thats what I was expecting from the perfect fit....

Oh my word!!!! You took the words out of my mouth!! These are TERRIBLE! I just ordered mine from 247blinds - how about you?

Mine wont even close properly either. All 3 of them... They fit the frame just fine, though.. The fabric buckles as I push it up.

Waste of £160. Am trying to get a refund as they don't work properly.

Yes I got mine from 247 blinds aswell. Mine don't close (like yours) on two of the windows but thats because the size was too small (my fault as I didn't check the confirm email!). I've managed to squeeze the blind in, but that squashes the blind frame a little and then causes that buckling.

Its that gap around the edge that is my problem.

I sent 247 pics of the issue and they told me it was a 'tensioning' issue and have sent me an email that shows how to increase the tension so that the blind material sits more snug up to the frame.

I haven't had time to try it yet though

Let me know how you get on with the refund.

Well I tried what was instructed and nothing happens. I'll forward you the email. It says to close the blind and turn the little screw anticlockwise until the blind moves to a fully open position

I turned it about a 100 times and the blind did not move a single millimetre.

I've been on the phone to them and they are arranging to collect them, to repair them. We'll see.....

Re: Perfect fit blinds-rubbish!

Okay - an update. 247 have been good in that they are collecting them today and will have a look at why they are not working.

There was also talk of installing foam on the side guides to eliminate light introduction. Fingers crossed we can get this sorted.....

Thanks so much for forwarding the email :-D

Re: Perfect fit blinds-rubbish!

Have either of you had any resolution on this issue yet. The perfect fit range seem to be a good solution to blacking out my flat's living room without drilling, but your horror stories are the only real-world reviews I can find about the blinds. Did they turn out to be faulty, or are they really that bad?

Re: Perfect fit blinds-rubbish!

Hi

I should be able to let you know tomorrow. I sent them back and the fault has apparently been rectified, but I will believe it when I see it. They are also supplying foam runners that I can stick to the sides, but I have no idea if these will be any good.

Personally I say go for the Shy Zip ones!

Re: Perfect fit blinds-rubbish!

Sure! These pics are WAY below average and only taken on my phone, but pic 1 shows the blind open and you can see the amount of light coming in. The second one - photo.jpg has the blind closed. NO light coming in and you can see how bright it is out there

Expensive, but SUPERB!!

Re: Perfect fit blinds-rubbish!

Thanks, looks good.

1) Is there now NO light during heavy sunshine or do you still get some?

2) How much did that one cost?

3) Was it difficult to fit?

Thanks again

Re: Perfect fit blinds-rubbish!

1) During really heavy sunlight - NO light comes in face on. When you go to say 50 degrees and you can see sideways into the channel, you can see some small (and I mean VERY small) lightseepage but it was not light enough for my camera to pick up any so its REALLY not worth mentioning.

Absolutely no light around the top and bottom bars. It's like having a wall built where the window is!!

2) £290 for a 2m wide x 1m tall

3) Very simple - they gave me fitting instructions and said that I could go and visit their factory to see how to install it. I didnt need to - was very easy to fit.
I can't tell you how happy I am with it.

Hi,
I have a couple of questions about your blinds as it's not clear from the photo's

1.What operation type are your blinds, manual handle, control cable or electric?

2. In the brochure they list face or side fix for the side channels. What are yours?

I've got a sample of the fabric and channels coming after getting in touch with them but from your pictures etc, it certainly looks good.

Received the samples today.
I now understand why they are more expensive than some.

I think the saying "you get what you pay for" applies here.

Re: Perfect fit blinds-rubbish!

Hi,

I noticed you said that you had on of the Shyzip blinds. I'm actually thinking of ordering one for my home cinema room. Do you know roughly how much they cost or where I can call to get a price. I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you,
Shewsb

Look further up the page and you will see an example price. I'm also getting some costs from them. Have just submitted my measurements. So far they have been very, very helpful
