Any UK that ships to europe?

Hi, im finding some great prices on uk stores when comparing with prices on my country (Portugal). Some prices even beat some web spanish stores that have good prices.

My question is, any of you know a uk store that ships outside UK? (Portugal for instance.. )

Thanks

Re: Any UK that ships to europe?

that's a good question.

It's a bit drastic having to take the car to the UK to pick up a bargain, but there is no way that i'm going to pay these 'Rip Off Europe' prices

How a drop in the exchange rate can change everything

Re: Any UK that ships to europe?

I must thank the help of QuantumUK, from quantumelectronics.co.uk, they arranged me shipping to Portugal, allowing me to save some euros when comparing to my country prices.

They also advised me what combo to buy and trough away a pack of cables =)

Hope that do not take too long to arrive

cheers

Re: Any UK that ships to europe?

it is somewhat amusing to see how the tide has turned. A while back, I was jealous of the cheap European prices..and now I have family in Dublin that drive to Belfast to shop.

Re: Any UK that ships to europe?

There are several UK-shops shipping overseas, just depends on what you are looking for to buy? Personally I'm trying to find a store shipping Denon 1909 or Yamaha 763 amps, so far without any luck. So if anyone have suggestions I would be thrilled to hear...

So long I have found these companies shipping to europe:
Audio Affair
Home Entertainment Audio Visual Systems - Quantum Electronics (UK) Limited
Audio, Video and Home Cinema from AV Sales
Denon, Living Control & Onkyo WireFree Homes ::

But I find it a little bit hard to find anything about their reputation...

Unfortunately the likes of Duvel and De Koninck (sp?) are pretty rare over here, let alone the rarer brews.

Leffe Blonde is about as radical as the mainstream bars here get and you probably won't approve of that either .

The fact that alot of the better beers have alc vols double that of what we call strong may have something to do with it. 10% is something people drink in paper bags on park benches here (lookup Tennants Super ).

Ironically I think the more relaxed regulations which encourage the diversity and quality of Belgian beers make them harder to export to the likes of the UK.

You need to compare the tax free prices (for example our VAT is lower which makes a difference on something like a car, and if buying from the Netherlands we don't pay VAT & BPM, we pay VAT in the UK). Although most of those savings have long since gone, and even reversed since Sterling took a dive

Correct spelling.

Why not?
It's a pretty good beer and beats stupid Stella any day.
If you get a chance, try Grimbergen Blonde. Resembles the Leffe, but has a silky smooth taste.

I don't particularly like Stella myself, but with most of our bars/pubs being brewery controlled you often don't have a choice. I like Leffe and will drink it when I see it here, but when I'm over there I prefer to drink some of the more exotic (if you can apply that term to beer ) stuff.

I'll remember to ask for Grimbergen Blonde next time i'm over.

Because there was a brilliant marketing campaign over several years telling the idiot UK punters how wonderful and upmarket it was. Sadly most people in the UK have no idea how good Belgian beer can be

Even worse they seem to have no idea how bad Stella is ... very strange.

Re: Any UK that ships to europe?

Here's a solution to an all too common problem.....

I too was having it difficult to find someone that shipped to Ireland (sure, you'd nearly throw it across the water!!!) and when I DID find someone that shipped, the costs were WAY too expensive.

Take for example today, I ordered a Yamaha AX-863 - and the cheapest I could find online was £499 - a complete steal, but no-one selling at this price would ship to Ireland.

The solution?

Paid by Visa and organised my own courier to pick it up at the store and deliver it to me. The catch? A few minutes online entering some data - and believe it or not, the courier was only £19 with DHL!!!!

I just checked what it would be for Portugal, and it would have been exactly the same price to send the Yamaha to you.

For the courier check out Transglobal Express | DHL Parcel Delivery | UPS Parcel Delivery | TNT Parcel Delivery | FedEx Parcel Delivery. They act like a broker, in that you can see the different quotes from the different courier companies.

Hope this helps!

Sudo911.

Re: Any UK that ships to europe?

Really intresting. Thanks for the tip.
What kind of information do you have to give the courier for the pickup ? And do you just pay by visa and tell the shop that some courier will come there and pick up the package for your count ?

Re: Any UK that ships to europe?

Agreed with the dealer that he was happy for me to pay for the Yamaha by VIsa, and that I'd have a courier pick it up later the next day.

He just needs to know the name of the courier and when they are coming to pick it up. The courier puts the label on the package and gets the dealer to sign the waybill.

You can then track it all online. The only information you give the courier is some details on the weight, the size, and confirmation that you are not transporting guns/drugs etc

Nice one Sudo! Could you tell what store you agreed the order with? Did you just phone in or was it a hassle? Seems like a interesting option for me as well.

No problem - trust me, I understand how frustrating this is.... kinda defeats the purpose of online shopping!

Tottenham Court Road Direct was who I used today.

AFAIK Richer Sounds have them in stock. They do in Belfast anyway as they were trying to convince me to take it instead of the Yammy.

Denon are all out of 1909s until March - so you'll be hard find pressed to find a decent dealer with any left.

We sold out a week ago.
