A great price...I guess Denon messed up with the Black vs Silver weightings!

Most current generation screens have a black bezel & folks want their AV amp to match! I actually have a silver Plasma now, but my next TV is going to have to be black (there's no other colour for me to choose if I want 1080p plasma!).

An excellent bit of kit at a tremendous price though .....thanks for sharing.

I would've snapped this up had it been black. I lived through the silver phase by managing to source black stuff, and now "black" is again the new black, all the silver stuff is being discounted. I want "silver " to be the new black again, so I can get some cheap black components.

no its not a code, just an offer for those who subscribe to their mailshots. go in and say you saw it at £399.99 for vip members, they probably wont even check that you are, so go for it!

I rang up and reserved it at that price last week and collected on saturday. It went through the till at £399 without even asking.

I rang richer in leeds and they have ordered one from the warehouse for tuesday delivery for me, 399 no problems as you all mention. wasnt sure whether to go for this or the avr1909, but ive pretty much made my mind up now, and its a tad cheaper too!

This has really thrown a spanner in the works, I was pretty set on getting the 2309 on Friday but now they throw this at me, I really wanted black but if this amp is better than the 2309 (even with less hdmi) at £200 cheaper I could live with silver.
Decisions, decisions................... Any advice

Anyone have any opinion on choosing betweeb the Denon AVR-2808 and a Cambridge Audio Azur 640R..?

I do want good music performance as I intend to replace my Arcam Alpha 8/8P combo and this unit will become my hi-fi amp as well

well got an older denon 2803 in one room and a cambridge audio 540r ver 3 in another....imo the 540 is better with music......for the money the CA has really impressed me with build quality and performance.....i only got it due to size limits i had.

....have'nt heard the 640 but i would imagine the perfromance to be quiet similiar.........
but then again all the bells and whistles of the denon may be handy

I was interested in this offer the first time round but only 2 hdmi inputs put me off as I have 3 devices so ended up spending a bit more to get the yamaha rxv1800 instead.

Just Picked the Denon AVR-2808 from Richer Sounds in Cardiff for the
£399 + £40 for the 5 year transferable Guarantee.

Really impressed watched The Mist (great film) last night
and the bugs flying around the room and through the rear speakers made my skin crawl.
The cat was very upset

Was tempted by the reviews Yamaha's in What Hi Fi, but the last Yamaha RX- V2700 died and was costing about £200 to fix
really could not bring myself to go back there.

Also tried phoning around for the Arcam 350 to see if there was any shift in price £599, given it's an end of line product,
no joy even told it was not being discontinued by one dealer ?
then why the price drop ? and the Arcam discontinued on there web site !

Yeah really recommend it as feel you really are getting quality at a very reasonable price.
I know it only has 2 HDMI in 1 out
but has lots and lots of other connects and any way feel you are paying pretty steep prices to add in some extra HDMI ports.

Drives the Gallo speakers really well & was listening to Music DVD's and reelly good quality on separation and timing.

Wife ok but once again why do you have to change this as I don't
know how it works

If you like Denon Kit and are feeling the Pinch this deal is worth checking out.

I guess you meant November! Anyone know if this offer is still live for VIP as of today (15 Dec)?

I think it has 2HMDI - which is fine for me as the tv has 3 and the tribe do not want to use the amp for routine viewing.
