Not sure if its nationwide but Bromsgrove are limiting these to two per customer.

I believe it is. M&S had it for a similar price also and I picked one up for about £70 with a gift voucher.

It would seem that Asda have a tonne of these in stock in just about every store, all at £97, confirmed when I called them earlier today.

I struggled to get one from M&S as it was a one day offer only, but I was told by Asda that this offer is on for two weeks, but I got mine at tea time tonight to beat the rush...

I was very impressed with £97 as I was looking at the review in What HiFi and they said it was a 4* stonking great buy, had 24p and was also BD-Live and that was at £160, never mind the Asda price of £97...

I also found a couple of other lines too... there's a Philips 5.1 surround sound system for £97 too and a Philips DVD HDMI Upscaller for just £40!!!

I saw an advert on TV during an episode of Collision for the Philips at £97 so it'll definitely be nationwide.

Note: Judder but firmware seems to help!

I bought this for £97 from ASDA. My first Bluray player, so thought if it wasn't any good it could always go in the bedroom.

I can't compare to any other units but I do like to think I have a keen eye. Very good picture quality but I HAVE 'JUDD' ISSUES!

1) I have noticed that when playing Bluray discs at 1080p 24Hz I get the occassional 'judd'. Too much to call it judder or motion blur or judder related to the camera panning. Happens about every minute or so. The 'average' viewer wouldn't notice it.

It is like a frame skips, a blink of an eye, in fact quicker. You would hardly notice it but it is there. And of course, once you know, you are waiting for the next one to happen. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME IF THIS IS NORMAL WITH BLURAY? I am playing via HDMI to a Samsung LE-40A656 which should cope with the 24Hz easily. Changing to non 24Hz 1080 doesn't solve it. Any advice would be appreciated.

2) Played the bonus material from the Twilight disc today. The Auto video setting sent the signal in 1080 (not 24Hz)...lots of judder. Manual adjust to 576p sorted it.

3) Plays DVDs well in auto mode. Upscales fine. Probably not the most detail but adequate.

4) Very simple menus. I like these.

I have just updated to the latest software and the 'judd' @24hz seems to of disappeared...fingers crossed. Did an hours testing last night will do more testing tomorrow. If it has been resolved this is very very good value machine!!!!!........NO...JUDDER STILL THERE..SEE LATER POSTS

The judder, or 'judd' I referred to still seems to be happening. Just hope Philips release another firmware update to iron out this. A shame cos it is a good picture.

Philips BDP3000 Judder

I am still getting this and to confirm it I went to the scrolling credits of Casino Royale.

Black screen, white letters slowly moving up the page. Simple test.

I noticed that the 'judd' makes the letters go back a couple a few pixels.

IS THIS COMMON WITH SOME BD PLAYERS? THIS IS MY FIRST PLAYER SO CAN NOT COMPARE??

I think you'd be better off asking in this section Volante as this is just supposed to be a bargain section
