Western Digital TV HD 1080P Media Player: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

Thought it was a pretty good deal. Although just got a PCH A110 myself. I might pick one of these up in future for my son.

Re: WDTV Media Player 68.14 Delivered (Amazon)

I'm interested in getting something like this to cut down on the number of DVD's I'm creating from tv programmes. Do you know if it has a DIVX codec in its firmware and, if it does, is it updateable?

Yes it does divx, and xvid and mkv etc... the only issues i've ever encountered with them, is some MKV files are classed as incompatible - a restart usually fixes it. Though i think i may have stumbled across another issue centring around DTS audio....

its out and 16 quid cheaper than bigger version, but not sure what is missing, looks like it only has component connection, so 1080i not p, but does it still play HD media?
