CCTV 6pin Mini Din Help

Any electronic experts here?
I have this problem.

The male connector from a wire broke so I needed to connect a new piece on. However the old wire has different colour wires inside the casing compared to the new. I think the specification changed during 2004?

Also the old wire has 6 coloured wires compared to the new 7, so I have even more issues
Heres a pic. Does anyone know what is supposed to go to which? I have a picture appearing on my TV but no sound.

OLD WIRE ON TOP OF PIC, NEW WIRE AT BOTTOM
To get the image I think i have the following right. Iv tried swapping others to no sucess of getting sound.

metal bare wire without coloured case > brown
red > red
white > light yellow

BTW, its a black/white CCTV camera with built in mic

Re: CCTV 6pin Mini Din Help

Without knowing alot more its inpossible to tell but the cable looks like a baisc multicore cable i.e. any old rubbish so i doubt there is a recognised standard for using them also using choc block won't make it look work any better..... the standard DIN wirings are available online and may help you...

Re: CCTV 6pin Mini Din Help

i'm not sure on the answer here but the red core looks broken coming out of the white cable on top there!
if you know the make and model of camera might be worth checking their website for more info?
