Help with Varilight dimmer problems

Hi Guys,
I recently bought a Varilight 1 gang 1 way 400w touch/remote dimmer switch. When I fitted it it failed to work at first I thought it was broken, but then I wondered if it did not work because of my light bulbs. I have a light fitting with 3 7w energy saving candle light bulbs in. I have looked into dimmable energy saving light bulbs but most bulb sites say "not compatable with touch dimmer switchs". The varilight site says they are compatable. When I fitted the switch it did nothing no lights came on at all and it was wired correctly. Please help as I am thinking of returning the switch.

Normal energy saving bulbs don't work with dimmers. Try a couple of normal bulbs and it should be fine.
