Arrow X10 alarm system - record cameras to the internet?

Has anyone had any luck setting up their X10 alarm system to record video footage to the Internet when an alarm is tripped? There are a number of security systems out there which can dial out, but I'm looking to tie them in with a piece of software that will upload any footage (probably as still shots) to a remote FTP location.

Any suggestions?

You can configure Supervisioncam to record based on the input to a game port if your PC has one. You can control this from an x10 relay module. Supervisioncam can then upload the pictures to an FTP site. I just use the motion detection myself so the x10 stuff is seperate.

It would be a bit ad-hoc and messy but it is possible.

most network DVRS have an alarm input (basic relay) that could take a feed from X10 system

Some IP CCTV cameras have motion detectors built in to do this. Have a look at the Panasonics.

Might not be any use to you, but I use normal webcams (Philips Toucams) hooked up to the linux server that does all my HA stuff, with a piece of opensource software called "motion" that can do loads of things, including emailing or ftp-ing the stills or video.

Check this link WebHome < Motion < TWiki

I use Zoneminder on a Linux server to do motion detection on my CCTV system. It has the facility to interface with X10 I believe, although I'm not sure if that is to trigger an X10 device when motion is detected, or vice versa. As it detects motion automatically though, it could be independent of the alarm system and still record video.
