I've been wondering about these myself. I know searching the net, most opinion is that these are rubbish for general lighting, but have wondered if technology has improved, and there are new designs that are supposed to be higher powered, have more leds, better reflectors etc.
Many make bold claims about being as bright as a particular halogen, but the lumens figures contradict this.
e.g. the above claims to be as bright as a 35w GU10, and yet the lumens is 110, compared to a real 35w which is more like 600.
I would like to go more green on these, as everything else in my house (except a certain uplighter*) is energy saving stuff and perfectly fine light (all CFLs). The GU10s I've got though are kitchen lights and they need to be especially bright.
What about CFL GU10s though? Probably too slow to turn on I guess.
* - that uplighter is a whopping 300W halogen!

It's very nice but I didn't think about the power when buying it. There's no real energy saving equivalent for the light it gives out, although it does include a dimmer but I'm not sure if dimming it actually saves energy.
