Lighting - Pls help me complete my home cinema setup

So there I was, proud as punch with my first home cinema setup, 40W4000 TV, SF1300 Sound ( front speakers at either side of TV ) , Sky HD, PS3 ...all on a corner unit stand. I thought my project was complete until I checked out the members gallery. I love the backlighting that several of you guys have got and would love to do something similar.

It looks like I could nip down to IKEA and buy some Dioder led strips but to be honest I don't know that I want all the additional cables that would entail , nor am I sure that I want to stick led strips to my LCD ...if I did go this route is the dioder lighting bright, how many sets ( 4 strips per set ) would I need to provide good ambient lighting behind the TV, speakers and stand. ?

Can you advise a good solution, ideally a single box ( freestanding on floor or shelf behing TV ( since its a corner unit there is room ) , or wall mounted on wall behind TV ?

Solution needs to provide good ( reasonably bright ) ambiet back lighting from behind TV to surround wall space adjacent to TV and speakers. Also would need to be range of colours ( switchable ) ..I don't need the colours to cycle from one to another..I just want to be able to select one of a choice of colours as the mood takes me.

Any ideas guys ?

I used led tape from litewave, it is only 3mm thick and can be cut to suit.
choice is red,blue,white,green,orange or rgb.

No damge to a tv if you want to remove it.

pm me i'll email you some pics.
