Well i am only new to this but i have a extension lead surge protector jobbie and it is rated up to 75,000 amps so i thought that must be the rating the remote socket needs.I would like to plug the extension lead into the remote socket as its in a hard to reach place.I run a few things off it
Toshiba 32xv505db
Xbox 360
Turtle beach
Laptop
Ikea light
What amp rating would i need then as i have know idea .

The 75,000 amps is something different. Thats the level of protection it will give to your equipment if say a bolt of lightning were to get into the cabling. You will need to look for 13A which is the maximum on a domestic socket.

Everyone has to start somewhere mate. Ive taught myself most things as ive gone along. Its all about having the confidence to jump in and do things.
Im afraid I had to laugh at HD's post above though... classic!
