text to turn on my heating

Hey there,
Im just wondering is there a device i can get that i can wire to my heating,so i can text it from my mobile fone to turn it on and off,somthing that would just wire to my landline????

I think there is something you can attach to a mobile phone which does what you are asking. Something to do with the backlight coming on. I think you might find it on the satcure website. under electronic projects.

I don't know if there is a simple PSTN unit but I do know that Smart Home Controls have a SmartHome Text controller that allows you to send SMS messages to turn your heating on & off.

I have seen several units you can call and set over the phone, there are quite a few units on the market.

Also look at RF Solutions.

They had a range of SMS controllers that you could set passwords for and it sent a conformation txt back to you telling you if it was successful or not.
