Smile Where to get rope light?

Helloo :D

I'm after about 5m of rope light to go around the edge of my unit. Where and whats the best type to get?

I tried the normal DIY stores but they havent got anything.

Anyhelp or links would be great!

Re: Where to get rope light?

I also recommend http://www.lights4fun.co.uk/

They have good quality LED rope lights that runs cooler, cheaper, and lasts longer than the usual rope lights that people like TLC sell.

I have bought lots of stuff off them, and recommend them. (but then they did put a picture of some of our christmas lights up on their website http://www.lights4fun.co.uk/28/popupgallery2.asp )

However, the advantage of the TLC ones is they can be cut to exact size. I don't know about the LED ones.

But then compare the electricity usage.
LED: 30 bulbs per metre = 2w

Duralite: 36 bulbs per metre = 16w

The LED rope light on a drum looks like the LED equivalent of the standard Duralite rope although it will not be dimmable and costs about 4x the price. Still a good find and it will be interesting to see its light output compares to the standard rope - I would expect the LED white rope to be a very clean blue-white light rather than the very warm light of the white Duralite rope.
