Dioder-ish lighting on the cheap

If anyone here likes the look of the ikea DIODER lighting that many forum members use but feel its a little pricey have a look here.

Look here for some very cheap cold cathode lights designed for use in computers (only £2.99 for a pair of 12" lights)

and here for a very cheap 12v mains adapter

Cut off the computer connector from the cold cathode kit and connect it to the 12v adapter and it should work fine.

It may not be quite as neat as the DIODERs but it could save you quite a bit of money, especially if you use a few of them.
Also, its probably worth mentioning I haven't tried this yet, but I can't see any reason it wouldn't work and I plan to give it a go very soon.
Will post again when I have

Good luck
