duralite rope light in kitchen

Hi all

Im looking to install the duralite rope lite in the kitchen under the cabinets for some task lighting. I have main halogen spots in the ceiling so the bulk of the light is ok - My question - does the rope light output enough for task lighting ?. looking to use about 5 meters around the cabinets.

many thanks

Re: duralite rope light in kitchen

Certainly not as good as LV halogens or strip lighting. I used Duralirt for lighting around the plinth under my kitchen cabinets and used LV halogens under my wall units. That said 5m of Duralite is not that expensive so you could try it and see what you think. I would recommend using the continuous mounting strip as well, makes the installation much neater than using clips - the rope light tends to droop between clips and they are as brittle as hell, I broke every one I tried when removing the ropelight following original installation.
