X10 Compatible Plug-in Appliance Module, would this control my Sub?

I am looking into turning my Subwoofer into a remote control one.
Would the X10 Compatible Plug-in Appliance Module be good enough for doing ths controlled by my infrared Pronto?
Thanks

Yes, as a simple on/off switch the same as switching the mains on/off. I do this with mine so its only on when needed along with various power amps.
To read the IR from the pronto you will need something like

Thats great, Thanks
I thought it would of worked with just the stand alone x10 plug-in module, I wasn't aware I would need one of the other items to make it controllable with the Pronto.
