RC LED Lighting - What features do you rate?

Hiya,

as some of you are aware, i run a power buy thread selling remote lighting and neon lighting.

I am working on adding more features to these kits, but in order to keep the product affordable I am trying to find which are the most popular features prople would like.

If you can let me know which of the following are most important to you, and why it would be very useful!

I will be looking for somebody to review the new item when it is available (not for a while) I will give some of the people who reply to this thread, first refusal at getting ur hands on this item.

Current Features:
Flexible LED Strips
Multicolour strips using RGB LED's (fixed colours)
3 meters of cable per strip
uses RF
Can use up to 8 strips

Features I am reviewing:

1) increasing the max number of strips to 10

2) Allow a small switch to change the RF Frequency of the control box. (3 available) so a single remote can control 3 sets of lights in the same room.

3) Add DMX control to the remote, allowing the colours to be blended (increasing colours from 7, to 1 million)

4) adding support for IR remote's, which will make the kit compatible with devices such as the harmony remote.

5) Possibly adding a WIFI option, so the lights can be controlled via a web-browser without the need for a harmony / x10 server etc.

6) doubling the number of LED's availble in each strip thus making them brighter

7) adding advanced led strip control, so you can change a single strips colour indapendent of the others.

8) Adding options for 18" LED strips as well as 12" to the kits.

I may drop some of these features based upon comments in this thread, and/or the cost it adds to each kit. will see how it goes.

So which features would catch your eye and why?

Cheers

Alec.

Re: RC LED Lighting - What features do you rate?

1) v. important - you know why!
2) unimportant to me but can imagine importnat to others (IR as follows more important to me due to Kameleon owned)
3) v.cool, but not vital (and i'd imagine pricy)
4) No one priority!
5) Would be very cool, excellent to be linked with HTPC, although IR/RF options would suit most people.
6) haven't seen the brightness currently for myself yet, although other manufacturers offer longer length strips...
7) Again, would be cool - but I think for my setup all strips the same would be fine.
8) Might be worthwhile, will help those of us with bigger TVs!

Re: RC LED Lighting - What features do you rate?

Just saw this thread so here's my 2c worth

1) increasing the max number of strips to 10 - wouldn't apply to my setup

2) Allow a small switch to change the RF Frequency of the control box. (3 available) so a single remote can control 3 sets of lights in the same room. - again wouldn't apply to my setup, but could see why this could be important to some people

3) Add DMX control to the remote, allowing the colours to be blended (increasing colours from 7, to 1 million) - now this I'd like to see

4) adding support for IR remote's, which will make the kit compatible with devices such as the harmony remote. - don't have a harmony remote, but this would be a big bonus if I did have one

5) Possibly adding a WIFI option, so the lights can be controlled via a web-browser without the need for a harmony / x10 server etc. - not for me, thanks

6) doubling the number of LED's availble in each strip thus making them brighter - my setup is quite small, so I don't need this. Could be useful for bigger setups though (see points 1 & 2)

7) adding advanced led strip control, so you can change a single strips colour indapendent of the others. - could this be integrated with option 3?

8) Adding options for 18" LED strips as well as 12" to the kits. - again not for me, but a range of sizes is always good

Would it be possible to have some sort of microphone/line in feature to enable colour changing in response to the audio output of the tv/dvd player?
