New CCTV setup required?

I know i have posted before with a similar thread but now things have changed and would like to start a fresh.

Firstly i need the following spec..

1. DVR with the ability to record continously with 2 cameras
2. Record sound from at least one camera.
3. Have either cd or dvd backup facility
4. If possible have the playback to be as smooth as normal movie (Not jerky)
5. Need to ability to have both cameras on seperate channels for viewing live at the same time without having to flick between them.

I do have some questions that i would like answers too please..

How many fps equal smooth playback?
Can i add my own hard drive and if so does it have to be a certain type?
Do i have to format it or add software for it to work on the dvr?
What format would the backup be and can it be played on a dvd player?

Secondly i need 2 cameras

1. 2 cameras at least 1 with sound or a good solution to seperate audio.(Both for external use).
2. Ability so see in the dark at 20 metres.Prefer day/night (colour/mono) cameras
3. clear picture day and night (Be able to see faces clear).
4. If possible clear leds that don't show in the dark.(Not sure if these are available).
5. Small and discreet as possible
6. Also don't want to be paying more than £150 per cam

What sort of angle does night vision cover (is it mainly focused in the middle like a torch beam).
Do i need a wide angle lense?
What is the difference in lense sizes?
How do i determine which one i need?
Can a dome cameras be wall mounted and point downwards?

Do not want to go the pc route or wireless.

Has anyone got any info on this... New Pentaplex 4 camera DVR with Networking & CDrw Model N4DVR782 and would it suit my reqirements? Also how good a unit is it or should i avoid for any reason?

Thanks for the tip but they are very expensive compared to other retailors.Also i still don't know what to go for.I have phoned 2 companies so far and are awaiting reply emails from them.

For CCTV to be effective you do need decent quality equipment, otherwise you may as well throw your money in the bin. In my opinion iview are not an expensive retailer and tend to concentrate at the budget end of the market. If you intend to spend less money than what iview charges, then I would drop the idea of CCTV altogether as the results would be little use.

Thanks for your input Zippy but when i refered to them as being expensive i meant compared to other retailers for the same product.I am prepared to spend a half decent amount for what i need but i don't want to go overboard.
