Electricity flicker!?

Working in my home cinema lounge today. Have wired up screen, GU10's and spurred to feed projector. Noticed that all electricity flickered 2x yestrday evening and once today. My PC restarted and everything reset. Worried that when i connect amp speakers sub etc may cause problems. Any advice as to where the problem may lie? If this happens while a film is running i may have probs.

Re: Electricity flicker!?

Could be just the local electricity providers fault. If any thing was the matter your safety devices in your DB (fuse board) would trip,or you could have a loose connection in your DB.Carefully check connections at the DB if your brave enough

Re: Electricity flicker!?

We live in Middlesex (Nr Heathrow) and too had two power flickers yesterday. Sounds like there was a glitch in the supply around our area.

The Amp, Computer, lights and Sky + reset, but the DVD Player, Sub and PJ continued to run without a hitch

It has serioulsy made me think about a UPS to run at least the PJ

Re: Electricity flicker!?

Thanks Johnny i think you are absolutely right since this hasn't happened before at all, the lights and power flickered for a fraction of a second twice in the space of 2 hours thats all. Happened ystdy once but prior to that not heard of. All powerpoints are working absolutely fine.
Very reassuring. Thank you.

Re: Electricity flicker!?

Steve, just noticed your post, had initially missed it. Yeah, i was quite worried at the time. My PC restarted and Sky reset itself but that was all. It happened 2x on saturday night and once on sunday. Unusual and never happened before. Can't have been my wiring since my newly wired lights and powerpoints were on all of last weekend and no probs at all. Since the weekend all has been fine... pheww so it wasnt me thinking my wiring was dodgey and to blame...well, either that or your wiring is tosh too

Re: Electricity flicker!?

Missus has just told me that all her mates at work had flickering lights over the weekend too

Looks like they should start peddling a bit faster
