Phone Filters

Dunno if this is the right place bit im wondering bout dsl filters for my broadband

Ive my broadband set up for the last year working grand but wondering do you have to have every phone on a filter or any pc or watever people can tell me???

Every phone should be connected via a filter. Also, if you have a burglar alarm connected to your phone line then, in theory, it should also be via a filter.

I have a small idea about filters,correct me if im wrong the phone is at a smaller frequency and the broadband has a higher one,filter lets the phone through but not the broadband signal.Does the pc need to be in a filter or any other pc in the network or is the picture of the pc on the filter just to make things totally fool proof for correct set up

I know pc dont need filters but was talking about the pc internet connection through broadband

Yes you can plug your router/modem into your BT socket without no filter with no problem to your connection. But if you have a phone,sky digi box,alarm or fax you will need to have them filtered.

What we do on home network installs is fit one filter at teh incoming BT line and then distribute the ADSL bit to a local router and the post filter telephone service arround the house without the need for additional filters.
