What fire can I have with a back boiler ?

I am hoping that there might be someone reading this that will know the answer to my problem. I am currently in the process of changing my fireplace for something more modern. The problem is that I have a back boiler so am I limited as to what fireplace I can have ? My current fireplace comes out from the wall quite far and I wanted to get something more slimline and wall mounted if possible.

Now, I went to B&Q and the guy there said that I could use a flueless gas fire as they are designed for any wall or chimney. My current fireplace has the controls for the boiler on it, am I going to run into problems ?

You need to speak to the manufacturer of the fire/boiler to see what fire front replacements they offer. I had a Baxi back boiler/fire in my last house and was able to change the fire front to something more modern even though the boiler was nearly 20 years old. You will also find they are probably upto 50% more expensive than a standard fire of the same design.

It will be important to get a correct match between boiler and fire front as there could be issues with the flue arrangement which need to be sorted if you are to maintain safety.
