At present I have 2 sky+ boxes downstairs ( one in main lounge and one in kids playroom) The box from the lounge has cable from rf2 up to master bedroom. (I have a televes distribution amp in loft but unused at moment as blocks 9v output).
My final requirement is that in the daytime the TV demands are for the wife in the livingroom and the kids in the playroom. Once the kids have gone to bed then the demand changes to living room and bedroom. ( I hate sitting amongst primary coloured plastic objects in the playroom).
Thus my question is as follows :-
Is it possible to have the TV in the master bedroom recieving signals from both the boxes and being able to watch whichever box I want and retain the use of the remote control.
I get the impression that it will not be possible with the equipment I have so my follow on question is
One method would be routable IR/RF remote controls - I know my URC MX3000 with RF base can do this this so when I choose the activity i.e. watch lounge Sky box, the IR codes are only sent to thar particular unit. MX3000 is generally sold through custom installers not direct so could be difficult to track down
can you not make one of the sky boxes send the rf out on a different channel, then connect all your tvs to them with a splitter box that allows the current through, then you can have sky from both boxes on any TV?

That's how you distribute the picture but you cannot control the boxes inependently as both see the same IR signals from the magic eye. That's why you need to be able to direct the IR signal at the individual box which requires addtional hardware. The only simple option is to have change one of the + boxes for a standard non+ unit as these use different code sets. However you know need either 2 sky remotes in all locations where you need control or use universal remotes that allow you select which box to control.
