Hifidelio?media PC - control from PDA

Hi,

I'm a newbie to this multiroom streaming stuff and need some help please - I'm moving later this year into a new build which will come with Systemline installed - with audio hub under the stairs that will send to speakers in each room plus line in sockets in each room.

What I would like to do is to have all my music on either a PC or soundserver (Hifidelio Pro ideally, based on other threads I've read) and then access the music through a wireless PDA, so I can choose what to listen to without having to crawl under the stairs each time.

Has anybody any experience of doing this or got any other better solutions?

Also does anyone know if the 5.1 upgrade for systemline is any good - I currently run Kef eggs (2005.2) with Denon receiver for movies and am trying to work out which is the better route.

Thanks in advance for any help
Peter

If you use a Squeezebox as your listening device then you can install Slimserver on the Hifidelio server and then control the web interface using your wireless PDA - this allows you to control the Squeezebox players and choose what music they play and the volume as well.

There is also a new web interface in beta for the Hifidelio that will allow you to control what is playing if you have your amp/speakers connected to it.

The Imerge S2000 links brilliantly to a PDA and you can control up to four outputs wirelessly, I know because I've got one.
