Colour changing LED lighting

Hello all.

Was watching the box the other day and saw a house that had LED’s lined down each wall, mounted in the floor uplighting the wall.

The walls were painted white, and when these LED’s were turned on it gave the best effect I’ve seen for a while. Furthermore these were colour changing and from one control box mounted on the wall you could change the colour from say blue to red in seconds.

Does anyone have any experience with colour changing LED’s

These are what your looking for they are a new product . Been looking at getting a set myself . You run the 8 lights from the transformer which in turn plugs into the wall socket . You can even add another 8 lights from the transformer . Making that a total of 16 lights all controlled via the transformer .
The transformer controls the colour changing process .

These are the dimmest thing in dim world! :

Unless you go for the expensive colour kinetics type systems or the pulsar ones, you will not get very bright! YOu could try mains LED BUT they are nigh on impossible to dim due to the efficiency of LED and the current leakege through a dimmer

Tried a set of those myself a few months back. Sorry to say they went back within 24 hours. Pointless IMO. No worthwhile light output and I guarantee you would tire of them very very quickly.

Thanks for the info messiah . Thinking about it more i don't really think these would have been suitable but until you plug them in it's not always easy to tell .
I will have to look for an alternative but there is no rush as i can't start my cinema room for nearly 2 years as i have to wait for daughter to leave for uni so i can pinch her room for my plans . I've got the idea's in my head and am picking up the things i want at the right price then storing them in a cupboard . My idea is to light the celing with lighting that can be plugged in as i have decided not to wire from the lighting curcuit ( mrs was not happy about it and said i would have to get a spark in to do the work but that is not in my budget to pay for somebody's services ) I have already got the remote control sockets for the lights to be operated so this is the way I want to go now and will look for an alternative at a resonable price .

Thanks guys, id seen those kits in B&Q but id read elsewhere they weren't all that bright.

I think to put a controller on display it would have to be a damn sight better looking than chunky black plastic as well.

Ill keep looking around, something will crop up sooner or later.
