GU10 / Dimmer Switches

I've had some cables installed for 19 GU10 downlights but the electrician has differed from what i requested so I have 12 on 1 loop and 4 on another and 3 on another

I was originally going to have a 3gang 400w dimmer controlling them all but not sure I can do this now as think the 12 lights will be do much. Is that right

Any help/suggestions would be welcomed.

12 x 50w = 600w so your 400w dimmer wouldn't cope. You could lower the GU10's to 20w for 240w, but I would just get your electrician back to do the job properly!

what 'bulbs' are you fitting as your 450W dimmer wouldn't have been up to it if your using 50W bulbs any way now would it?
no need to go into why the electrician wired them wrong thats all down to each switch working banks of lights or comunication errors by both parties
