Netstreams Digilinx

Is it possible to automate tasks with netstreams, i.e. turn on light or music at a certain time? Or can anyone tell me what additional hardware would be needed to make this happen?

Thanks!

Re: Netstreams Digilinx

Officially there has not been, but a couple of dealers in the USA have been playing with a 3rd party solution.

We have our UK trade show next week and I am with both Netstreams and NaimNet so will ask for an up date. I'll also check the dealers forum as well.

Re: Netstreams Digilinx

It looks like you might be able to do this by inserting Netstreams codes into a 3rd party controller.

It seems it has been tested with Lutron Homeworks, I'll have a word with the guy who has tested it and see if there is a cheaper way to intergrate it when I am at the show next week.

As a digilinx and lutron dealer I would be happy to talk this through with you if you would like.

Re: Netstreams Digilinx

Was at our trade show yesterday and saw a great little solution for control and timers.

iLinx - an beautifully written iPhone/Touch app with gives you complete access to your digilinx system and it offers timers.

Basically you set the timer and function you want on the app and that gets all sent to a contorlinx. This then counts down to the time you have asked it to trigger and off it goes. No need for the touch/phone to remain connected.

It is not a cheap app, but far cheaper than a £1200 touchscreen.

Re: Netstreams Digilinx

Digilinx offers RS232 input and output control. if you are going to be using full house automation, some lighting systems offer RS232 output, and also have an inbuilt time clock (Mode's Evolution has sunrise sunset too).

If you program the lighting system to send a command to the Digilinx at the specified time, this will then trigger the Digilinx to output it's commands to all of it's devices. This will probably be the best way to have complete integration.

Re: Netstreams Digilinx

But can either of those systems allow you to set alarms and timers or are they just fixed, hard coded triggers.

The iphone app would allow you to link a time trigger to anything within digilinx and then it sat there running internally on a controllinx until its time has come.

Re: Netstreams Digilinx

Thanks for the replies, how much is the ilinx application? I came across a company called Superna, who supply software to run commands, anyone used it or supply it? Tried calling them but they wont answer. Here's a link to them Superna | ConfigNet™

As someones mentioned about using the lighting system time clock, they wont tigger music etc to come on through netstreams?

Re: Netstreams Digilinx

You will need an ipod touch or iphone, the iLinx application, wifi access onto the same network as DigiLinx and a spare controller

iLinx app is about £85 and a ControlLinx is about £600 - 700, plus installer time to add the controlLinx to the system.

iLinX Home

System totally UK designed and built and I saw an iPhone controlling a house over 100 miles away from Excel Exhibition centre.

Happy to talk direct if you would like to.

Re: Netstreams Digilinx

Yes you do need a second one if your want iLinX to operate alarms and timer functions.

Might know of a second hand if need.
