Crestron ST-1700C

I've aquired a Crestron ST-1700C and also the RF CNRFGWA remote receiver and was wanting to use this to control devices in my AV rack in my cellar. So IR over RF.

However, I know nothing about Crestron equipment therefore what else do I need to be able to get this to work. I've been looking around Crestron's website and it seems like I need a control.

Can anyone recommend which one as all the ones I've found so far are incredibly expensive.

Thanks

Re: Crestron ST-1700C

You can use any of Crestron's current 2 series controllers. MC2W is more cost effective as it has a built in wireless gateway, as you already have one you could go for an MC2E controller, which is a compact version of the AV2/PRO 2 but still has a few serial control ports, relay ports and IR outputs to control your devices. A CP2E controller will also do the job, it is similar to the MC2E but has more input/output ports and a few other features, and costs a little more.

There are plenty of specialists using the Forum who can help you with the programming, I am assuming you already know that you need to get a Crestron Certified programmer to set it up for you.
