British Gas standby saver, will it work??

Hi,

I'm looking for a way to control some led downlighters and a standing lamp with my Harmony 785 and was wondering if the British Gas standby saver would do the job?

If i made sure my tv, for example, was plugged in as the main device, would the lights that are plugged in be turned off too?

Thanks in advance for your help

See product setup decription here, http://www.standby-saver.com/UserFil...uctions_A5.pdf , looks to me like it doesn't sense when your tv is on, you just have infrared control of the whole strip, and upto 2 of the 6 sockets can be powered continuously.

Re: British Gas standby saver, will it work??

Really?! That would be even better if that's the case i can't check the pdf atm, but the ultimate aim would be to have IR power control over the lights so if i were able to turn them on/off individually using my harmony that would be excellent.

Does this seem like the case then?

Thanks for the reply mate

Not individually, the standby saver is either on or off so to control 2 lights seperately via IR you would need 2 of these.

Re: British Gas standby saver, will it work??

Ok, thought that may be the case. Still sounds promising though. While looking i stumbled across the following:

IntelliPlug™ - Intelligent Desktop Computer Adaptor > Maplin

This seems as though it might do the job for me, so long as i wanted the lights to turn off with another existing piece of equipment, and i could plug it directly into an extension block.

Am i right with my assumptions of how this works?

Cheers again
