Mains sockets that work with IR not RF

I have been using the 'Home Easy' RF sockets for non-AV tasks for years with some success.

Now I want to add one to my AV system and need it to be controlled by my Harmony 1000, so I need something which uses IR rather than RF.

Does anyone know of one?

these work fine with my harmony, just wish they had discrete on and off, like RF ones, but cannnot find one on the maarket that does, so toggling has to suffice!

Thanks, that looks as though it could work.

When you turn the socket on/off with the remote, does it turn on/off immediately? I only ask be because some of the reviews seem to talk about a 30 second delay.

hiya, they turn on straight away, and when turning off, there is a 4 second delay.

Thanks for that. 4 seconds is fine for what I want to use them for.

I have been using these for a month or so now, but the IR receivers are so hit and miss that it becomes annoying - the 4 second wait for them to turn off if often infinite because it hasn't worked!

I have had two now and they are both the same. Were yours ever like this?

We've got a few installed in jobs with Sky boxes (cheap way of rebooting them on a schedule so they don't lock up), can't say I've ever seen them not turn off as long as the IR gets to the receiver.

i kind of know what you mean daveb975, what i thought it was, was the remote i had chosen, which is a little soft touch button, and i have to really press it firmly to activate/deactivate the ir sockets

but as i say, thought that this was due to the remote, i just tried another remote, with "normal" buttons and it works quite responsively, but do feel that distance is quite limited with these, so if you were on the margin of the distance, it may make them more hit and miss

basically, i cant believe in this day and age, with all the av add-ons and gadgets geared for theatre room living and integration, that IR on/off sockets dont exist for purchase in this country
