AV Receiver cooling

My AV Receiver started behaving strangely last night and I have a feeling it could be heat issues.

After turning it off (and unplugging) overnight and doing a reset this morning, all appears to be well but I don't want a repeat of this so am looking at some sort of cooling solution.

Can anyone tell me if anyone in the UK sells anything like this:
BXT Amplifier/Receiver Cooler + AC Power Supply

If not, can anyone suggest a suitable alternative? My receiver is on the bottom shelf of a glass AV stand and not in a cabinet, btw.

Thanks but I don't think one of these will actually fit in between the top of the amp and the shelf. I have about 20mm clearance.

Re: AV Receiver cooling

I use Middle Atlantic component coolers, which are very quiet (Middle Atlantic Products Thermal Management Solutions) and it looks like (from searching) RGB Communtication is a UK distributor. (RGB Communications Website - distributing AV Solutions not just products)

Many, many thanks for this: that compcool product looks ideal for my purposes

Now I just need to try and find somewhere that sells this as at looks like RGB are themselves distributors rather than retailers.

Hi. I managed to track down stockists of these products in the US and you're right: they aren't cheap. The single unit is $60 but the power supply is 110v only and they want $30 shipping!

I've emailed RGB asking them for UK stockists.

Perhaps some custom installer could help me out?

Re: AV Receiver cooling

Sorry to post in an old thread.. but came across it while googling amp cooling.

The product you mention above, to me this just looks like one of these:
PC Slot Cooler

With a bit of rubber on it and it's own PSU and temp sensing?

I've got one of these laying around somewhere (the metal part just pulls off as it's clipped on), I'm sure if you trimmed an old mouse mat stuck it to the bottom to get the anti-scratch/non-slip bottom) then I'm pretty sure don't most amps have a 12v output trigger? Not sure how much that can drive and if it's a constant output but it can't be that hard to rig up power to this.

Better than paying £50+ for one?

Ok it won't be temp sensing but as far as I recal these things aren't loud.

Just thinking out loud.
