Hi there,

I am going to retro fit a small automation system to my bedroom in a rented flat (therefore not too intrusive). My intension is to re-wire the two main ceiling rose lights to a KNX controlled switch dim actuator, and also wire two lamps one floor standing and one desk to a switch dim acuator outputs (all lights independantly dim-able).

I will rebuild the switches on the wires of the lamps to have momentory up and down button to provide on/off (short press) dim up/dim down (long press) using a universal KNX interface for the sensor and a switch/dim actuator for the dimming.

when it comes to the projector screen and black out blind, i am a bit unsure of the general properties to expect from a basic model. All blind control i have done in the past has been using blinds that have automatic feedback systems that stop the motor once the blind/proector screen it fully closed or fully open (aka expensive blinds). I am looking for cheaper alternatives, so are these auto-feedback and stop, standard for all manufactures, or will i have to time the entire closed to open progress and program accordingly? Are there any (preferably cheaper) manufactures out there that have started using the SMI standard for increased control? is it common to have a "projector on" signal once the projector screen has been activated, or shall i use another actuator to signal instead?

On a side note, i plan run the projector from an additional media centre, which will also host as my NAS containing my mainly HD divx/xvids. I am not planning on having a normal monitor on this computer, as it will only be used only via the projector and as a server, however, i would like to be able to control the PC (and therefore select my movie etc) without using a normal keyboard and mouse. I have been thinking it must be possible to get similar to, or convert a Wii controller into a "mouse", so i can use select via MythTV or Win Media Centre (not decided which one yet, so advice would be good also).

On last point on the projector screen: is it standard to have a pulsed input to bring the screen up/down, or power and hold until it either stops itself or you let go?
