Ok... So I'm getting some of the popular Ikea Dioders to create the bias lighting effect. The only thing is, the TV is in the corner of the room so was wondering if there was any particular pattern in which I should place the light strips on the rear of the TV...

Has anyone had experience of backlighting a corner placed plasma...?

As the strips are 25cm long I was thinking of just positioning them in a 25cm x 25cm sqaure in the middle of the panel...

Any comments appreciated

Ok, so I went ahead and got them - it seems a little trial and error (gotta love Blu-Tack ) is the way to go... (in fact - think I'll leave the Blu-Tack there )

Here's a pic of our humble little setup...

The GF is insistant however that the cables shouldn't be seen - has anyone managed to hide theirs? If so, how? I was thinking of either black card or fabric over the back of the stand.

Let me know what you think (and yes - we're watching Universally Challenged and yes again - it's recorded from last night )

If anyone's interested I managed to get the cables hidden - just some panels of 6mm MDF cut to fit, sprayed matt black and slotted in

thank you F1 for putting the photo up. it answers a question i had, if it was possible to put the lights on if the tv is on a unit, i thought maybe the screen had to be wall mounted.

Thank you for the photo it is great to see the effect before we go ahead. Also love the wire covering idea, my hubbie is going to be so busy this weekend!!

Your welcome - glad it was helpful. I searched before posting to see if anyone else had ideas about a corner unit being lit but it seems most of the backlit ones are wall mounted.

I've played around with the lights since the pic and now have a strip of two across the top and just one about halfway down - this seems to give the right amount of light and it's an even spread from top to bottom.

The panels at the back only took about an hour to cut and spray (the longest - and most frustrating - bit was waiting for the paint to dry ). Can recommend Plasti-Kote spray paint - even on bare MDF it gave a pretty good finish.
