Remote controlling Gira lightning bus?

Hi,

I've got Gira lightning at home, with a GIRA remote control.

Does anyone know if this can be controlled by other remotes, e.g. Pronto or anything?

Cheers

Re: Remote controlling Gira lightning bus?

Pronto and RTi could control it as can netstreams digilinx as Gira is IIRC EIB/KNX protocol.

Do you know if the Pronto 9600 could control it? if so, what extra bits would I need to send RF signals to control the lights?

Cheers

Re: Remote controlling Gira lightning bus?

As the remote is RF then I don't think you will find any straight forward solutions for conventional remote controls. IIRC Netstreams uses a wired KNX gateway to talk to such systems, I guess Pronto & RTi could do the same using RS232-KNX gateway although it would need some custom programming to make it work. It would be easier to see if there is a Gira IR interface that will allow control of the lights from any learing IR remote control. You could try KNX suppliers such as Ivory Egg as I'm sure they could advise you on an appropriate solution or maybe some of the KNX installers on the forum could post some ideas.

Re: Remote controlling Gira lightning bus?

Would need a GIRA IP gateway and pronot script (lots of programming or an RS232 Gira interface with RFX9600 and TSU9600 and RS232 control of the Lights (less programming)
