Reliable X10 controller?

I've got a IR7243 and it often locks up with the red light jammed on.

I can't switch it to a different socket, I've tried unplugging the only energy saving lamp on the same socket but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Also how come no other pieces of X10 equipment are bothered by interference?

I've come to the conclusion that the IR7423 is basically carp, and want to replace it.

Is ther a similar thing that doesn't suffer the same problem?

Or I've seen a similar thing that doesn't have the IR bit in it, it just has the control buttons. Is that reliable? And is there a pure IR > X10 receiver so I could get two bits of reliable kit to replace this one?

Cheers

Re: Reliable X10 controller?

(to the mod) Is all this removal of links necessary?

It takes 10 seconds to google and find a couple of hundred links, and the one I want will be in there somewhere, requiring me to trawl through the search results.

If someones just trying to help by posting a relevant link what on earth is the harm?

Did you consider a new poster with 2 posts to be a company person spam advertising their company?
