New home wiring recommendations

Hi there,

About to start wiring a stone barn renovation project so I can have a Living control & Rako system installed at a later date.
Will needs loads of Cat 5e, coax and speaker cable for this and there seems to be so many choices for each of these (different types), so can anybody recommend me which ones to use and where best to get them?
Also if anybody has recommendations on which ceiling speakers to get that would be much appreciated.
Greetings,

Johan

Re: New home wiring recommendations

I would suggest if you have decided on a living control and Rako system then you contact your local rako and living control installer.

Re: New home wiring recommendations

Hornydragon;

I have had a look at what is currently available on the market and think the Living Control / Rako system would give me what I want to achieve but it is not set in stone I will end up using that setup.
The reason I mentioned what system I had in mind is because it might require certain cable types, different from other systems (hopefully not so I can keep the options open).
Would an installer be interested to talk to me even if I can’t afford the units now (that part of the planned budget has been already used up on unforeseen extra work I’m afraid) but I would buy them at a later time?

Greetings,

Johan

Re: New home wiring recommendations

I certainly would as there is nothing worse than seeing a client who says "i wired for this XXXX" and then seeing that they mis read the specs and got it all wrong...... It may also be worth inclkuding the CEA2030 wiring into your property as thi sthe US standard for domestic entertainment wiring and will mean you have a wider choice of solutions if you decide not to go the route of LC for Music
