Hi all

I have a DVR cctv system running 4 colour cameras.
There is 2 outputs on the back for monitors.
All the connections on the back are BNC.
I have ran RG59 cable from the DVR unit under floor boards ect down to my plasma in my livingroom.
I have connected both ends, one end being a twist on BNC .75ohms plug and on the other end.. (plasma screen end) is a standard RF connector which i plug into the aireal socket.

MY PROBLEM IS.. I have tried tuning and fine tuning the screen in to see my cctv cameras and the picture is very VERY bad, i can very faintly see through the snowey picture the 4 cameras, so i am getting a signal but it is very very bad.

Is there anything you can think i am doing wrong ? what more can i try ? have i done something wrong ?

The output from the DVR will be a composite video signal and therefore not one you can ‘tune in’ via the aerial socket and tuner. You will need to put a RCA plug onto the end you are currently plugging into aerial socket and connect this into the composite input on your TV. I'm very surprised you can see anything at the moment, as the two types of signals are incompatible with each other.

Im not sure what you mean ?

can i get an RCA plug to fit onto rg59 cable.. ive never seen these ?

So is this what i need and then i will see the picture clearly ? have i dont right in using rg59 coax, surely theres a way round this for me
