Vocal Fire Alarms - A MUST have...

I was sent this video from my cousin in the states… If you have kids, it is a real eye opener to some potential fire safety issues and potential preventions

http://www3.whdh.com/features/articles/hank/A94/

Does anyone know of the availability of something like these in the UK? I have a home security system with the fire alarms hard wired. If I could, I would swap these out for these new ones….

Andy

You can buy them on Amazon, search for Kidsmart Vocal Smoke Detector, they are £29.99 each. I cannot find the manufacturer website.

Re: Vocal Fire Alarms - A MUST have...

I seriously have slept through a fire alarm or two when at university, and regulalrly sleep through my alarm clocks simply because I'm fortunate enough to have a late-ish start for work (10am), making my brain pretty relaxed about waking up, despite being 28

One thing that DOES wake me though, is nextdoor's cat meowing to come in and sleep on my bed so one of these gadgets would suit me for a smoke alarm Now, if they made an alarm clock version I'd be sorted...
