Has anyone got an honest opinion on this? My dad just bought one on eBay for £1500 used, the is no video switching box however so this would need to be added on as an extra.

Is this a decent system, its almost as new as from what i can see retailed at £5000+ when it was new.

Is there ANY way of making a 5.1 amp connect to the ceiling speakers in the lounge as well, i know they have a local input somewhere?

Also can i get anything to add to it to distribute a HD component signal to about 4 rooms?

I dont think the Video switching from Opus is HD, so you will have to look for a different way of distributing and switching the HD content.

I had my house wired for this system when it was built and had the Opus installed two years ago. It is the most commonly used piece of electronic equipment in the house; even my wife can work it and loves being able to listen to music in just about any room. £1500 is an absolute steal - the main control unit costs about that on its own.

I do not use the video switching unit - I installed a much cheaper but effective system. You need a more bespoke system to distribute HD.

Each zone amplifier has a local input but this is for stereo inputs only - I can't think how you could use the ceiling speakers for HT duties as well unless you used a speaker switcher to switch between opus and 5.1 AMP. I run completely separate systems in my lounge.
