AD10 Rail Switch

Hi there. I have bought the AD10 Rail Switch and a couple of questions
arose.
I want to be able to control the heater with both x10 and the wall switch.
The question that I have is how the switch will be able to turn off the
heater when the heater was turned on by x10 command. For example the wall
switch is at the off position and I send an x10 command will the heater turn
on? If yes how will the switch turn off the heater? In addition.
Keep in mind that the wall switch that I have is a regular on/off switch
which I suppose it will be connected to terminal 1.

If you do not want the switch to override remote commands, then you will have to use a single face momentary switch.
This switch makes a contact, then springs back to the open position. This connects to terminal 2 if my memory is correct.
If you connect a standard switch to terminal 1, this overrides any remote command.

I have connected the AD10 to a lamp in order to test it before I rewire my heater switch and place it in the rail. I was unsuccesful in switching on the lamb using X10. No switch was conncted. On the same plug that I have connected the lamb I have put another X10 device which works great so I am pretty sure that the x10 command gets there. The lamb turns on succesfully using the blue switch on the AD10 but unsucceful with the x10 command. What am I doing wrong??

Is it addressed correctly?

It is addressed as A3 which A is the house code. I am using a Visonic system. Is this compatible with the Marmitek devices???

Is the device that you have working with the x10 addressed as A3 also?

I did not understand the question? The A is set as the house code and the AD10 is set to A and as the 3 device i.e. A3.

The device you are trying to get working is addressed as A3.

What address do you have set for the device that is already accepting x10 commands?

I have two other devices. The one is A1 and the other one is A2. Both of them work just fine. I have also disconnected the A2 device and set the A2 to the AD10 and tried to turn it on with no success .

If you are sure that the addressing is correct, and you have wired it correctly, then it may be a faulty unit.
I would double check the wiring first.

I have replaced the AD10 with a a new device but I still have the same problem. Do you have any other ideas? You said something about the switch that it might be overiding remote commands? How can I test that?
Can you draw me a simple diagram how can I connect the AD10? The switch I am using is a regular switch for heaters with a LED with on/off position.

The blue switch must be in the middle position for the AD10 to listen to X10 signals.

You can possibly use that regular wall switch by the way.
But anyway get it working with the lamp first before thinking about the heater.
