Lutron Dual IR and Harmony remotes

Does any here have this setup?

Trying to get one light off and the other to 50% using a harmony remote (895). (Scene or preset)

May be able to do this with the rania remote but I am not sure.

Re: Lutron Dual IR and Harmony remotes

Hi, I've just commented on someone else's question regarding this set-up here:

Harmony 1000 pics

Not the same question but you have a good point i hadn't thought of - whether you can programme and adjust the two channels independently?

I'll phone the rep again tomorrow and report back tomorrow night unless we get an answer on here first.

Re: Lutron Dual IR and Harmony remotes

Thanks for the reply. You can do them independently.

I got Lutron to send me the codes and got Harmony to add it to their database.

I can now control them both independently.

Lutron and Harmony are in my good books.

Just need Harmony to put macros back on (due July) for single button press light control within an activity.

Re: Lutron Dual IR and Harmony remotes

thats cool. does this mean that you can now set scenes from one press on your harmony?

eg: scene 1 - both channels full, scene 2 - channel 1 off, channel 2 at 25% for cinema say?

could you macro these onto 'watch dvd' for example?

good customer service by both parties, i assume that these codes will now be on the database when i finally get mine?

cheers

until macros in July it takes 2 presses (center lights off, side lights 30%)

unless you do it as part of an 'activity' which will do it in sequence anyway so in one press you can do it all

should be on database... any problems give me a PM and I'll send them to you and then you contact logitech

Re: Lutron Dual IR and Harmony remotes

Whaoooo....

Not wanting to hi-jack this thread, are Logitech really introducing Macro's to the Harmony ?

I'm assuming you're not talking about the macro's fired off on activity change, but a single button press in mid-activity firing multiple commands ?

Where did you hear this ???

Yes the latter (a single button press in mid-activity firing multiple commands).

Re: Lutron Dual IR and Harmony remotes

Im looking to switch out my lightswitch in the living room to a remote control version for my Harmony 885. I'd like something which has a "scene" setting as well as full on and up down dim control.

Looks like this could be a winner, but what model would I need, theres loads on their site and I'm not exactly electrically minded and there seems alot of information on there I can't get my head around?

Anyone able to hold my hand through it?

Thanks!

Interesting, as the Rania devices I found in the Logitech Harmony database (when setting up my Harmony One) contained mostly garbage and look as though they are actually using the Grafik Eye codes - the Rania Dual device, for instance, is setup with 10 Scene support which simply isn't possible with a Rania, nor does it include the individual Zone Off commands!

I'm now having Logitech add the Rania codes (again, it would seem!) and will post again when Logitech confirm the names of the new devices they have created.

mrm3 - what devices did they create for you? It would be crazy if this process has to be repeated every few months...!
